Tatoo History
The word “Tattoo” means to prick and mark the skin with indelible pigments. Traditionally, tattoos were designed into the skin with sharpened sticks.
Tattoos have played an important part in spiritual rituals, identification, social status, and even warding off illness.
People use tattoos to tell their life's story; when a baby is born, a loved one dies, a marathon run, the name of a partner, etc.
Archeology has proven that the practice of tattooing has been around for centuries, dating back many centuries.
Today, tattoos are worn by people of most classes of society and by all ages. They are used to simply design the body or to remember special moments/or people in the wearer’s life.
Cosmetic tattooing is a rapidly growing industry. The most popular cosmetic uses today are permanent eyeliner, lip coloring and lip liner.
Medical professionals have embraced tattooing as a way to help their patients feel better about themselves. For some, tattooing has been the answer to camouflage troubling scars and birthmarks.
I suspect one day everyone will sport a tattoo, if for nothing else but to identify themselves.
