Narrow a round face with makeup
An oval shape face is considered to be the most perfect face shape. Keep this in mind, along with the two most powerful secrets of shaping a face. With a little practice, you'll be shaping your neighbor's face!
Secret #1: When applying your foundation, blush and bronzer, think of the shape of the oval and then follow secrets #2 and #3:
Secrets #2 and #3:
- Use darker hues of color in areas of the face you want less noticeable.
- Use lighter shades to bring out the best attributes of your skin.
Narrow a round face with loose powder foundation
Using loose powder makeup foundation, such as a mineral powder foundation to narrow a round face:
Use a slightly darker color on the outer area of the face than your natural skin color, keeping the shape of an oval in mind; and then switch to a shade matching the natural color of your skin in the imaginary oval part of the face.
Or, if you don't have two colors of foundation in your makeup bag, use less powder towards the inner part of the face than you do the outer part of the face.
Helpful hint: After loading your powder brush, first begin applying the powder to the outside area of the face and then work inward.
Narrow a round face with liquid foundation
Use a darker liquid foundation on the outer part of the face and neck area. Then switch to a lighter foundation (only go a shade or two lighter) for the inner oval. Blend the edges of the two colors well for a smooth transition of color.
Shrink a Double Chin and/or Jowls with Makeup
To create the illusion of a smaller double chin or jowls use a foundation on the chin and jowls that is a shade or two darker than your natural skin tone. Don't go too dark, or the makeup will be noticeable.
