How Long Different Methods of Hair Removal Last
We were thinking about hair removal and wondered how long different methods of hair removal last. So, we decided to do a bit of research on the topic. Because all women's hair grows at different rates, we've given you the average amount of time hair removal methods should last. We admit that this isn't scientific research, but what the heck!
Shaving: Lasts about 1 to 3 days before needing to shave again.
Tweezing: Lasts 3 to 4 weeks.
Hair Removal Creams: Lasts about 1 week.
Waxing: Lasts 3 to 4 weeks.
Electrolysis: For some, permanently; for others it is not permanent.
Laser Hair Removal: The intent is permanent, but occasional maintenance is needed.
Prescription medication: Some women grow full beards. There is medicine for excessive body hair. Talk to your doctor for details.
Bonus Beauty Tips:
Razor Blade Indicator Strip
Many of the better disposable razor blades have a built-in razor blade indicator strip directly above the razor blade. It is this strip that tells you when it's time for a new razor.
For example, if the strip's color is pink when the razor is new, and then it gradually turns another color, such as white, then the white strip is telling you it is time to replace the blade. Of course this is only an indicator; you have to also use your own judgment.
Use Two Separate Razor
When purchasing razors, buy two. Keep one exclusively for your underarms, and the other for your legs. So as not to get confused about which razor is which, keep the razor's cap on the one for your underarms, and the other leave uncapped. But if you have children around, just mark one with a "u" for your underarms. Buy using two razors, you should notice less razon irritation under your arms.
