Makeup Colors for Women with Gray Hair and Brown Eyes
EYES
Style: Natural
Application: Do not press hard on the delicate eye area, use light sweeping stokes instead.
Step #1
Color: Desert or cream - highlight color
Area: Entire eyelid from the brow to the lash line.
Cover this area with light eyeshadow. This will brighten the eye area and provide a base to work from.
Step #2
Color: Coco, gold, or medium brown - mid-tone color.
Area: Along the crease of the eye
Using an eye crease brush, load the brush with a favorite medium-tone eyeshadow; wipe any excess powder from the brush with a tissue to soften the color before application.
Apply color along the crease of the eyes with be PROFESSIONAL makeup angle eye crease brush in a windshield wiper motion working the color evenly over the skin. During application, gently hold the eye closed at the lash line. A lighted magnifying mirror is especially helpful.
Finish with a slight upward stroke at the end; not downward. This will give a lift to the eyes.
Step #3
Color: Grey or deeper brown that that in step 2; use a color two to 3 shades darker than your mid-tone color.
Area: Eye lid below the crease.
With a Luxurious Eye Color #11 brush, sweep color across the lid of the eye, but not across the highlight color at the inner corner of the eyes. The eyes appear brighter when the inner corners are highlighted. To soften dark greys and deep browns, wipe loaded brush with a tissue before application.
If your eyes are droopy or hooded, only apply this color from the outer edge of the lid, inward to the center of the eye, or pupil area.
For a brighter look, substitute above colors with:
Step #1: Desert, Step #2: Coco, Step #3, Doe
Set includes Doe,
Coco, Haze and Desert
Mascara - Select brown or navy blue mascara Yves Saint Laurent Luxurious Mascara for a False Lash Effect offers several colors, including two beautiful shades of blue. Black mascara may appear too harsh on more mature eyes and can even make the eyes appear smaller.
If you are more comfortable wearing black mascara, but wish your lashes were longer and fuller, try Japan's top-selling mascara, Imju Fiberwig Fiberwig for false eyelash results. It is engineered to create perfect lashes with twice the amount of micro-fine interconnecting fibers.
Eyeliner - Again select brown or navy blue to line the eyes.
Brown, golden-brown and even copper eyeliners are softer than black, and often look best on more mature eyes.
For larger looking eyes, create a thin line above the upper lash line and do not line the lower lash line.
LIPS
Lipstick - As we age, lips naturally become thinner and paler. Bring color back to the lips with a soft berry, apricot, peach or darker shade of pink. Lip plumpers work well as do lip liners.
Lip Liner - Lip liners are wonderful! They define the shape of the lips, correct small flaws, and help prevent lipstick from moving into fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth.
It is important when using a lip liner to match the color of the liner to the color of the lipstick, or choose a neutral color lip liner.
If you fail to match your lipliner to your lipstick, your admirers may only see the lip liner and overlook those sexy lips of yours!
The big question here is do you apply lip liner before lipstick or lipstick before lip liner? I'm not really sure, but lip liner first makes more sense to me. I use liner to outline my lips and lipstick to fill inbetween the lines.
CHEEKS
Blush - When selecting blush, use your lipstick's color as your guide. If your favorite lipstick is peach, choose a blush with peach undertones.
If pink is your favorite lipstick color, choose a mineral blush with pink undertones; but if it is berry or apricot, choose blush with undertones of berry or apricot.
Makeup Foundation - What feels most comfortable on your skin is what will normally work best for you. However, keep in mind the three most important factors when choosing foundation:
Match foundation to your skin type;
Match the color of your foundation to your skin tone;
