How to Cover Up a Bruised Eye with Makeup
Have you ever been involved in an accident and woke the next day to find yourself with a bruised black and blue eye?

If it happens again, try this trick I taught myself... Just for the record, my ugly swollen black eye was caused when I tripped over my own feet and hit the side of my head while on vacation!  I had to do something quick to conceal it and came up with this combination that worked very well.

  1. Apply a good amount of concealer to the discolored areas.
  2. Follow with dry mineral powder foundation.
  3. Use Navy Blue eyeshadow on the eyelid.
  4. Use cream colored eyeshadow under the brow.
  5. Do not use eyeliner - it makes the eye look worse when swollen.
  6. Apply four coats of mascara to draw attention more to the the lashes and not the lid.

Don't use frosted or shimmer eyeshadow. Stay with a matte or satin. Frosted and shimmers naturally draw attention to the eyes.  You can read more about their differences here

Remember to use a light touch around the wounded eye.
