Weird Makeup, Skin Care, and Beauty Tips

Q. What does snail slime, lead, chalk, Crisco, bar soap, Koal, red eye relief drops and oatmeal have in common?
A. They have been used by women for beauty, makeup, and skin care.
Note: The following are provided for entertainment only. We are NOT recommending their use.
Got Acne? Slap on some soothing Snail Slime...
I can just hear it now…. “Here dear, Got Acne? Slap on some Escargot or Snail Slime on your face”...
I’m sure teenagers would love mom handing them a jar of snail slime for their acne. They may not use it on themselves; but instead use it to torture little Johnny for telling his best friend that her best friend said… (If you work with 6th graders you will understand the little Johnny comment).
Snail slime skin and facial products, found most often in natural skin care line, are created with a substance of the Helix Aspersa Muller garden snail. Yes! This trailing substance left behind (slime) is gathered and used in products as an antibiotic for skin infections, including acne.
Lead and Chalk Makeup Foundations
To the ancient Greeks and Romans, a pale complexion was a sign of wealth and privilege. To achieve a very pale complexion, women painted their faces with chalk or dangerous white lead.
Mentholated Ointment for Itching
I once heard if your skin itches, use refrigerated mentholated ointment. It is suppose to reduce the severity of the itch.
Take the Itch out of an Insect Bite with Bar Soap
Wet your finger in water, rub it across a bar of soap (only bar soap seems to work), then apply the soap to the bug bite.
Within a short time the itch will disappear. If it doesn't, you may not have used enough soap - or you didn't use bar soap.
I've used bar soap for this purpose for many years and prefer it to anti-itch creams.
Ancient Egyptian Eyeliner
Egyptian woman were known to have used Kohl, a dark powder they made of ochre, ash, malachite, almonds, lead, ore (an original mineral makeup) and other ingredients.
Kohl was painted onto the upper and lower lids, extending well beyond the area of the eye using a small stick.
In addition to Kohl's eyeliner beauty enhancing capabilities, it was also believed that Kohl had the potential of reducing eye infections and restoring poor eyesight.
Crisco Eye Makeup Remover and Moisturizer
I've heard of Crisco to remove eye makeup, but recently I was watching a show in which an 80 year old woman revealed her secret for beautiful skin....Crisco. She said she has used Crisco for many years as a face moisturizer.
Bird Poop Facial
The next time a bird targets you, thank that little feathered friend for the gift.
Guanine, a substance in bird poop, is believed to be responsible for the soft and silky skin of Geishas.
In Manhattan, New York, your face can be lathered in bird poop for the small price of $200.
Take the Red Out of ... Pimples
To take the red out of an occasional pimple that pops up at the wrong time, put a few drops of a red eye relief product, (I like to use Visine) on a cotton ball, and then hold this on the pimple for 20 seconds.
Eyeliner Booster
For darker and longer lasting eyeliner, add a drop of red eye relief product on your cake eyeliner or dry eyeshadow, and then apply how you usually apply your eyeliner.
Dry Oatmeal Hair Touchup
If your hair is oily and you don't have the time or the place to wash it, rub dry oatmeal in your hair to absorb its excess oil.
Remove oatmeal with a brush.
